SKYFOX was hovering over downtown Orlando and found scaffolding strewn across the street, not far from where crews were dismantling scaffolding that had become unsafe and unstable.

ORLANDO, Fla. - Layers of scaffolding outside an office building in downtown Orlando came tumbling down Wednesday morning, as construction crews continue to dismantle it after it was deemed unstable.

Video form SKYFOX showed piles of scaffolding littered across the street as construction crews used an excavator to move pieces from one place to another.

Crews began removing tearing down the scaffolding from 222. South Orange Avenue last week after it was deemed unstable and the decision to take it down made. It's expected to take at least a week to fully remove it.

The saga started two weeks ago after the scaffolding was deemed unstable, forcing Orange Avenue to be closed between Church and Jackson Streets, disrupting people's commutes and causing some businesses to temporarily close.

At first, crews attempted to stabilize the scaffolding, but ultimately determined that it needed to be taken down.

"So far, we have executed a controlled plan to dismantle the top seven stories of scaffolding along Orange Avenue primarily using cranes, which allowed us to safely pull the remaining lower sections into a pre-determined safety zone today," a spokesperson for Balfour Beatty said in a statement.

"We are now working on removing debris from the area, which includes the Orange Avenue roadway. The site and the surrounding area remains secured during the removal operation and we continue to be focused on working quickly and safely to complete the operation."

The company said it hopes to finish taking down the scaffolding next week.
